I still attended International Language & Business Centre (ILBC) for my Secondary 1 Education. I transferred to Singapore after Secondary 1 Education. I attended Greenridge Secondary School in Singapore for my remaining Secondary Education. It was a big change in my life and I was prepared for it.
I was promoted to Secondary One (B) after Primary Education. In our school, there isn't different class systems such as 'Express', 'Normal(Academic)' nor 'Normal(Technical). However, we will be divided into classes from 'A' to 'I' with 'A' being the best class and 'I' being the good. After every semester, there would be a Book Fair where we could buy books at 90% discount. We also have Fun Fair, Arts & Science Fair and Concerts in December. December is always one of the months that My friends and I look forward to. In October, our school conducts an excursion where they bring the students to trips, be it within the place or overseas. One of the trips I mostly enjoyed was hiking where we had to climb a mountain to reach to a holy place.
When I first moved to Singapore, I was usually late for school due to the 1 hour and 30 minutes difference in the timezone between Myanmar and Singapore. I had a hard time coping with the accents and the way Singaporeans speak. I joined the soccer CCA as I was forced to join one. I didn't regret joining it as I had a lot of friends from the CCA. I was a good student as I usually do my homeworks and submit the assignments on time. My favorite subject would be Maths and PE.
After I finished Secondary 1, I was studying hard to ace my entrance exams in Singapore. So, I didn't have ample time to enjoy my holidays. After I left for Singapore, my holidays would be spent by returning to Myanmar to spend time with my time. I would go back twice a year - once after mid-term and another after the EOY exams. My family would go on trips usually the beach or cooler regions as the city I live in is hot.
